UMC MVP: Patricia Griffin (aka Ms. Pat)

Each month, we will pick associates who go above and beyond in the community for UMC MVP. This month, in honor of Be Kind to Humankind Week, we have chosen Ms. Pat!

Work Memory: I have worked at UMC for a long time, and it is because of this that I have so many wonderful memories at work.. There are many fond memories that I can think of that have to do with becoming close to the residents. Just the other day we were reminiscing about some of the residents that I really missed. Those memories are what make working here a special place.

Hobbies: I love to organize & host different programs for work, the Lodge, etc. I love to educate people about things that they do not already know. Like most woman, I love shopping. Finally, I love taking care of my dad.

What my supervisor says about me:  Many of my employees have heard me say at one time or another, “I don’t know what I would do without Ms. Pat”. Some people may believe that this statement is an exaggeration, but I have never said anything truer than this. Ms. Pat has become my eyes and ears in the dining room, and she always knows when something is not right or needs to be addressed by me. She took it upon herself to do the huddles that occur before service, when we were short an operations manager and still does them to this day. Her biggest attribute is how she brings different departments together to celebrate days that are important to her. This is her chance to educate the staff about why we celebrate the days she chooses. This act of kindness shows all UMC that we are one big family, and it doesn’t matter what department you are in. She also celebrates every single dining service employee’s birthday with a cake and small gift. Keep in mind that she uses her own money. Pat, thank you for making every day I work with you an amazing one! You are truly one of a kind.

These pictures were taken the day Sodexo’s CEO, Seniors President, Zeta Smith visited Collingswood. She was told by the manager that she had to meet Ms. Pat before she left. Zeta was very pleased to meet her and have a chance to talk to her about all the kind acts she brings upon UMC everyday!
