Assisted Living

Assisted living brings professional care into residents’ apartments, enhancing dignity, choice, independence, stability and privacy. United Methodist Communities believes residents should remain in their apartments and secure support services, even as needs change. This customized solution perfectly suits people who wish to live independently, but don’t yet require skilled nursing.

Residents who need assistance with one or more basic activities of daily living, such as bathing, eating, dressing, ambulating and other personal and healthcare services, are appropriate for assisted living.

Independent Lifestyle
Empty heading

Seniors get the support and security they need, while being able to live a free and independent life. We call this lifestyle, “Independent Living with Support.” This is an affordable lifestyle choice for seniors who need some assistance and socialization, but who are still very mobile, active and proud to retain their independence for as long as possible.

CCRC – Continuing Care Retirement Community

Empty heading

United Methodist Communities at Bristol Glen is a New Jersey State certified Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). A CCRC is a particular kind of senior community that emphasizes an independent senior lifestyle, while offering security, medical and non-medical assistance, and abundant socialization opportunities with other seniors. It also describes a care continuum, and financial arrangements that may benefit both residents and their families.

Tapestries Memory Support

Tapestries Memory Support accommodates older adults with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. While each resident has a dedicated studio apartment, daily life largely occurs in the spacious common areas. Daily tasks and routines revolve around an every day household setting. Because residents’ show a wide range of capabilities and aptitude, customized programs engage each one as appropriate. This encourages active participation, skill maintenance and prolongs independence for as long as possible.

Respite Services

United Methodist Communities offers respite, which allows caregivers beneficial opportunities for rest, managing other demands, taking a break or vacation, and otherwise balancing work and family life.  Also, it can yield time to investigate senior living options for loved ones or a trial residency before making a decision. Respite offers a safe environment for medically stable individuals following an illness, hospitalization or short-term rehabilitation.

Long Term Care (Nursing Home Services)

Long-term care, also known as skilled nursing, comprises the highest care level, and may be required on a temporary or permanent basis. This setting offers treatment from licensed nurses 24 hours a day and is appropriate for individuals with complex and potentially serious medical conditions, rapidly changing health status or persistent health issues. Treatment may include wound dressing, rehabilitation, tube feeding and more.

Short Term Rehab

Consistent with UMC’s innovative service to seniors, short-term rehabilitation represents the perfect intersection of healthcare, long-term care and technology. Housed in the skilled nursing residences to enable close monitoring, the customized and therapeutic tools most effectively restore function, achieving the best possible gains. Complemented by the environment and personnel, we can successfully treat even seniors with multiple and complex health conditions. Medicare and private health insurance plans are accepted for short-term rehab.

Bridges Hospice

Bridges offers an alternate option to people who are unable or prefer not to receive hospice at home. Care and support from a skilled, compassionate multi-disciplinary team of health professionals assist people to live out their last days with dignity and comfort. Their expertise includes advanced, traditional and alternative therapies; expert 24-hour nursing oversight; medication management; certified caregivers; emotional and spiritual support; personal services; and palliative care for symptom management and pain control. Located in a private assisted living neighborhood, custom designed apartments and thoughtful amenities, complement the environment.

Affordable Housing

The United Methodist Communities has built five campuses throughout the state to serve senior men and woman who qualify under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development income limits. Affordable Housing offers apartment-style living with community rooms for activities, emergency pull-cords, live-in superintendents, parking and a full-time staff.
