We know many seniors and their families have questions about United Methodist Communities’ full service communities. Below are some of our most frequently asked questions and answers.

Of course! We urge you to stay connected with your loved ones. When they are unable to visit you can stay connected with them through our video software and app. We have a guest apartment for those who may want to stay for a period of time or they can stay in your apartment with you.

Of course you can! This is your home.

Residents have plenty of opportunities to socialize and engage in activities like tai chi, current events clubs, chair yoga, art, and more, while also being free to relax in their own apartments with a good book or a favorite tv show.

We have immediate occupancy on most apartment styles.

Yes you can, as long as they weigh under 25 lbs. and you are able to take care of them.

We were founded in 1907 and have been in continuous operation since. In 2016 we did an organization re-branding and became United Methodist Communities.

We have a full continuum of care: residential living, assisted living, respite care, memory care, skilled nursing care, and short term rehabilitation. You can also receive hospice care in our Bridges neighborhood.

Yes we do. There is free onsite parking for residents and guests.

“Continuum of care” refers to the progressive levels of care and services that a senior living residents may need as they age. UMC offers high-quality, scalable assisted living services, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, specialized memory care, hospice care, respite, and access to therapists and support services, all under one roof. As a licensed Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) UMC’s Newton, NJ location, Bristol Glen, also offers vibrant independent living options.

At our monthly “Food Committee” meetings chefs gain knowledge of the specific preferences, customs, and medical needs of each resident as well. There is no dietary restriction that cannot be deliciously accommodated.

For our residents’ convenience, each community has an on-site salon. Making an appointment is simple, residents just contact the front desk or get a nurse to help them.

One of the benefits of moving to a senior living community is access to outdoor spaces for exercise and relaxation, without the hassle of maintenance and upkeep! All UMC communities offer gardens, courtyards, and/or grounds for residents to enjoy. Many of our communities are also in close proximity to parks where residents can socialize, exercise, or just enjoy nature.
