The United Methodist Communities has built five communities throughout the state to serve senior men and woman who qualify under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) income limits. Senior Housing offers apartment-style living with community rooms for activities, emergency pull-cords, a live-in superintendent, parking and a small full-time staff. The United Methodist Communities senior housing communities are Bishop Taylor in East Orange, Covenant Place in Plainfield, Wesley by the Bay in Ocean City, The Wesleyan in Red Bank, and PineRidge of Montclair in Montclair.
The Congregate Services Program is designed to meet the needs of residents in (HUD) senior housing. Daily meals and housekeeping services can be purchased on a sliding scale basis and the program is supported by a grant from the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. Bishop Taylor and PineRidge of Montclair currently offer congregate services programs for residents.
