Services & Care at The Shores

Assisted Living

Assisted living brings professional care into residents’ apartments, enhancing dignity, choice, independence, stability and privacy. United Methodist Communities at The Shores believes residents should remain in their apartments and secure support services, even as needs change. This customized solution perfectly suits people who wish to live independently, but don’t yet require skilled nursing.

Residents who need assistance with one or more basic activities of daily living, such as bathing, eating, dressing, ambulating and other personal and healthcare services, are appropriate for assisted living.

Tapestries Memory Support

Tapestries Memory Support accommodates older adults with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. While each resident has a dedicated studio apartment, daily life largely occurs in the spacious common areas. Daily tasks and routines revolve around an every day household setting. Because residents show a wide range of capabilities and aptitude, customized programs engage each one as appropriate. This encourages active participation, skill maintenance and prolongs independence for as long as possible.

Respite Care

United Methodist Communities at The Shores offers respite, which allows caregivers beneficial opportunities for rest, managing other demands, taking a break or vacation, and otherwise balancing work and family life.  Also, it can yield time to investigate senior living options for loved ones or a trial residency before making a decision. Respite offers a safe environment for medically stable individuals following an illness, hospitalization or short-term rehabilitation.

Short-term Rehabilitation

Consistent with The Shores’ innovative service to seniors, short-term rehabilitation represents the perfect intersection of healthcare, long-term care and technology. Housed in the skilled nursing residence to enable close monitoring, the customized and therapeutic tools most effectively restore function, achieving the best possible gains. Complemented by the environment and personnel, we can successfully treat even seniors with multiple and complex health conditions. Medicare and private health insurance plans are accepted for short-term rehab.

Long-Term Care

Long-term care, also known as skilled nursing, comprises the highest care level, and may be required on a temporary or permanent basis. This setting offers treatment from licensed nurses 24 hours a day and is appropriate for individuals with complex and potentially serious medical conditions, rapidly changing health status or persistent health issues. Treatment may include wound dressing, rehabilitation, tube feeding and more.

Bridges Hospice

Bridges at The Shores offers an alternate option to people who are unable or prefer not to receive hospice at home. Care and support from a skilled, compassionate multi-disciplinary team of health professionals assist people to live out their last days with dignity and comfort. Their expertise includes advanced, traditional and alternative therapies; expert 24-hour nursing oversight; medication management; certified caregivers; emotional and spiritual support; personal services; and palliative care for symptom management and pain control. Located in a private assisted living neighborhood, custom designed apartments and thoughtful amenities, complement the environment.
