Pitman Manor Achieves Deficiency-Free Nursing Survey

United Methodist Communities at Pitman, a retirement community, recently achieved a deficiency-free nursing survey by the New Jersey Department of Health, Division of Health Facilities Evaluation and Licensing.

The division ensures that New Jersey citizens receive quality health care through inspections, certifications, regulations and other means, in a wide range of health care settings throughout New Jersey. In order to maintain its licenses as both a Comprehensive Personal Care Home and Long Term Care Facility, and to continue to participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs, United Methodist Communities at Pitman must successfully pass state surveys. On at least an annual basis, the state’s surveying team shows up onsite. While consumers remain largely unaware, for the protection and advocacy of the public and to secure a true sampling of quality-of-care standards and conditions, the team always appears unannounced. The thorough survey occurred over seven days in April, outranking the prior survey, completed in June 2014.

United Methodist Communities at Pitman currently employs 226 part-time, full-time and per diem associates and provides services to 235 residents. Quality stands at the forefront of long term care considerations and a deficiency free nursing survey acts like an indicator of resident life and quality of care.

United Methodist Communities at Pitman Executive Director James Clancy stated, “In addition to many complimentary statements when interviewed by the surveyors, 10 skilled nursing residents indicated they would refer a family member or friend here. The surveyors also commented on the cleanliness of the entire community. Outcomes like this result from our associates’ hard work and dedication, which shines brightly every day.” United Methodist Communities at Pitman offers residential and assisted living, short-term rehabilitation, memory support, respite, and skilled nursing.
