Nursing home care is delivered by skilled nursing personnel who include registered and licensed practicing nurses, certified nursing assistants, and physical, speech and occupational therapists. Do I Need Long Term Care or Assisted Living?
Long term nursing care is appropriate for individuals with complex and potentially serious medical conditions such as wound dressings, breathing rehabilitation, tube feedings, or those with rapidly changing health status’ or persistent health issues which cannot be managed at home or in other settings. Sometimes individuals require skilled nursing on a temporary basis due to an injury or illness.
Some of the more common conditions treated in skilled nursing include post-operative wounds, stroke, injuries, diabetes, infections, Alzheimer’s, cardio-vascular ailments, dementia, or respiratory ailments.
