HomeWorks Hero Frank Leone
Frank Leone is a retired pastor who felt a calling to work with HomeWorks. In his role as a companion, he assists Bristol Glen’s independent living residents with everyday tasks such as shopping, meal preparation, companionship, and more.
His background and training lend for reassurance and comfort during the COVID-19 pandemic. HomeWorks has offered his services, free of charge, to residents who cannot get out to the store and may need supplies.
Through an organized process, residents create shopping lists and Frank does his best to accommodate them. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, he makes grocery runs for people who are either unable or reluctant to go out. He personally delivers healthy fresh fruits and vegetables, along with other groceries. Even the pets, important and therapeutic companions, appreciate Frank’s labor of love to keep them stocked up!
Residents look forward to Frank’s short delivery visits to keep their spirits up during these uncertain times. Not only are they appreciative of this free service, it gives them a chance to see a cheery face and to interact socially.
Frank is not a stranger to helping those in need or to mission work. He has travelled to the Caribbean to help various communities following natural disasters. We are proud to call Frank one of HomeWorks’ heroes, doing whatever he can to assist and to brighten the lives of Bristol Glen’s residents!
