In response to the growing threat of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), UMC is following the recommendations of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH), and the county health departments.
UMC has formed a Coronavirus Response Team led by Elizabeth P. Andersen, Corporate Director of Compliance and Risk Management. Further, we are placing restrictions on entry into UMC communities. Associates, visitors, vendors, and volunteers who have recently returned from travel to countries/locations with Level 2 and Level 3 active virus spread per the CDC are not to enter any UMC community for fourteen (14) days following their return; these individuals must also be symptom free prior to entering the UMC community. We will update the travel restrictions as the global threat develops. In addition, we are reviewing our preparedness procedures, which include steps for necessary supplies and plans for staffing.
Associates, visitors, vendors, and volunteers who have had contact within the past fourteen (14) days with an individual with a confirmed case of COVID-19 also may not enter any UMC community. Associates must also notify their supervisors and their community’s Staff Development Coordinator (if applicable) of their recent travel exposure or exposure to an infected individual.
Our primary concern is the health and safety of our residents, clients, associates, and volunteers. We will post coronavirus updates to this page. Please do not hesitate to contact Elizabeth Andersen at EAndersen@umcommunities.org or your community’s Executive Director or Housing Administrator with further questions or concerns. Thank you for your vigilance and cooperation in addressing this global health risk.
