Who We Are

UMC has been a cornerstone of senior living in New Jersey for more than 110 years. We are a nonprofit, faith-based organization offering a full spectrum of housing and care options—from independent living and assisted living to memory support, hospice, and home-based care. Our communities are designed with resident autonomy in mind, supporting older adults with services tailored to their changing needs.

At UMC, we live out a mission of compassion and dignity. Our person-centered approach means every individual receives care that respects their preferences, enhances their well-being, and supports an abundant life. With a network of full-service campuses and affordable housing options, we serve seniors of every faith and background throughout the state.

History & Mission

Founded in 1907 in Ocean Grove, NJ, UMC began as a response to the growing need for elder care in the Methodist community. Since then, we have grown into a multi-campus organization grounded in our mission:
