UMC is thrilled to announce an exciting venture with Rowan University that would bring new and expanded services to older adults in South Jersey. University officials and Fairmount Properties selected UMC as the senior living partner for the Rowan Wellness Village concept – a first-of-its-kind walkable, intergenerational community proposed to be located on the southern end of Rowan’s West Campus in Harrison Township, New Jersey.
The Wellness Village, championed by Rowan University President Ali A. Houshmand, is still in the early planning stages and hinges on approvals from local governments.
The project includes plans to offer a wide variety of continuum-of-care living options and an extensive selection of programming to promote healthy living, lifelong learning, and community connection.
“The Rowan Wellness Village represents a transformative opportunity to expand our mission in bold new ways,” said Mark Lenhard, President & CEO of UMC. “Through our partnership with Rowan University and a coalition of visionary stakeholders, UMC is proud to bring over a century of senior care expertise into a dynamic, intergenerational setting that reimagines wellness, purpose, and community. Together, we could help more older adults live abundant lives, pioneering innovative practices that will serve as a model for compassionate, integrated living across New Jersey and beyond.”
