Ribbon & Room Service is part of UMC’s broader Elevation Hospitality initiative — a culture‑building commitment to create meaningful experiences that go beyond expectations through thoughtful gestures, personalized service, and human connection across every senior living community in New Jersey that we serve.

For new residents, that commitment comes to life through a series of moments, including:

  • A ribbon‑cutting celebration at the door of their new apartment, symbolizing a fresh start and a community ready to embrace them

  • A sweet‑and‑savory charcuterie spread to enjoy as they settle into their new home

  • Personal visits from team leaders, offering friendly introductions and reassurance that support is always close by

Helen’s Welcome at Collingswood Manor

One of the very first residents to experience Ribbon & Room Service was Helen, who recently moved into Collingswood Manor.

As her ribbon was cut and introductions were made, the celebration turned into something exceptionally meaningful. Helen shared a special moment with the community’s Move‑In Coordinator, Reid Zindel, by teaching him how to sign “I love you” in American Sign Language — a spontaneous exchange that captured the spirit of the day.

It was a beautiful reminder that while hospitality begins with thoughtful planning, it’s the genuine connections that make a place feel like home.
