Pitman Residents And Local Students Celebrate A Storied Event

On March 2nd, Pitman Manor residents joined with students from Pitman Elementary to celebrate Read Across America Day to help promote literacy and a love of reading among children and teens. Along with sharing some of their favorite children’s stories, the students and residents collected over 2,500 books for BookSmiles, a non-profit organization in Pennsauken, NJ, that brings together seniors and students to collect new and gently used children’s books to distribute to the underprivileged children who need the most.
